What we cut and sew
Šitie Atelier is a dressmaking and made-to-measure sewing room in Bratislava’s Old Town fringe. We build garments from your measurements and chosen cloth — not off-the-rack stock. The table below is our working menu; timelines shift with fabric lead times and fitting rounds.

On the table
Cloth first, silhouette second
Every commission starts with how the fabric wants to move. We drape bolts, check grain, and talk honestly about weight for Bratislava winters versus summer evenings on the Danube embankment. Only then do we lock a silhouette — A-line, soft tailored, or sharply pressed.
Clients often arrive with a photograph, a family textile, or a favourite jacket that almost fits. We translate that reference into a paper pattern sized to your body, not a generic size chart. Hand basting keeps seams reversible until the second fitting confirms balance.
The atelier stays small on purpose: one conversation at a time, enough quiet to hear the machine, and a fitting mirror that is not crowded by retail racks. If a fabric cannot be sourced responsibly or will not hold the structure you want, we say so before scissors open.
Finished garments leave with care notes — pressing temperature, storage, and when to return for a seasonal hem. That aftercare is part of the sew, not an afterthought.

Panenská 15 is a short walk from the tram lines that serve Bratislava’s historic core. Call ahead so we can clear the cutting table and set aside cloth samples for your visit.

No pressure to commission on the spot. When you are ready, we confirm fabric orders and schedule the muslin fitting that locks proportion before we cut your cloth.
