About Šitie Atelier

A small sewing studio devoted to custom clothing — measured, cut, and finished for one person at a time.

Why we keep the atelier small

Šitie Atelier opened as a response to clothes that almost fit but never quite rest on the shoulder. We chose a compact room on Panenská so fittings stay private and the cutting table is never buried under unfinished retail stock. The name nods to sewing itself — šitie — the daily craft of needle, iron, and chalk.

Our work sits between traditional dressmaking and modern made-to-measure: paper patterns drafted for your body, muslins that tell the truth early, and machine sewing finished with hand details where they matter. We source cloth from European mills and trusted local suppliers when lead times allow.

Honest timelines, quiet fittings

Bratislava clients range from professionals who need a dependable jacket for travel to people sewing a once-in-a-decade dress. We do not chase trends for their own sake. If a silhouette will fight your posture or daily movement, we redesign before scissors meet fashion fabric.

The studio speaks English with visitors and keeps records of your measurements for future commissions. We follow Slovak data-protection expectations when storing contact details — see our privacy notice for how long we keep fitting notes and how to ask for deletion.

You are welcome to visit without a commission in mind: browse swatches, ask about winter coat construction, or simply see whether our pace matches yours. Appointments help us give you undivided attention; walk-ins during quiet weekday hours may be possible if the machine is not mid-seam.
